December 30-31

We stayed home this weekend but other people had a wonderful time! Danielle and Dorinda Pugh reported that the ASCA agility trial was a success. Toby Keith (ASCA A-CH Rainyday's How Do You Like Me Now? CD RN OA OAJ RS-N GS-O JS-O NAC NJC NCC) earned a leg on his JS-E title, our Victoria (AKC/ASCA CH Pacific's Sweet Victorie ASCA CD NA NAJ RS-N JS-N) earned 1.5 legs on her RS-O with a first place win, Jackson (ASCA CH Rainyday's Remember When AKC CD ASCA CDX RA OA OAJ RS-O GS-O JS-N NAC TN-N STDd HSAs)  earned a leg on his JS-O and completed the the title with a first place win and Tucker (Rainyday's You Just Watch Me JS-O) earned his second RS-N leg with a third place win.

In CA, Perro's (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's Perro Rojo) son ASCA CH Woodstock's Forever in Blue Jeans was WD for a major and also picked up two RWD wins (to majors). Stitch is 18 months old and now has 9 AKC pts. He was bred and is owned by Linda Buell.

We also heard great news from Kari:

Pete has his debut in USDAA over the New Year's weekend and started the new year off with a bang!!  As I won't do a 6'3" A-Frame I ran Pete in Performance I at 16 inches but next time I many do 22 inches.  In Performance I still get the standard 5'6" A-Frame.  Pete took 7 first places and 3 second places.  He qualified in 9 out of 11 runs!!  Saturday Pete qualified and took 2nd place in both Standard and Jumpers and finished the day qualifying and taking 1st place in Snooker and Gamblers!!!!  Sunday, Pete took 2nd place in Gamblers but did not qualify.  Long story that was really funny but the judge called my dog a DORK before I left the ring :O)  This is the day we also had Steeplechase and Pete decided he did not want to do but 10 weaves.  I didn't want to stress him so we moved on and that was a NQ.  Pete finished the day off by qualifying and taking first place in Standard and Jumpers!!  Sunday Pete qualified in all his runs and taking 1st place in Gamblers, Jumpers and Pairs.

December 16-17

Danielle and Dorinda Pugh went to an obedience trial where they had a great time. Dorinda and Toby Keith (ASCA A-CH Rainyday's How Do You Like Me Now OA OAJ RS-N GS-O JS-O NAC NJC NCC) finished his CD from Novice A with a first place and his RN from Novice A with a second place. Our Victoria (AKC/ASCA CH Pacific's Sweet Victorie ASCA CD NA NAJ RS-N JS-N) earned two legs on her CD and Jackson (ASCA CH Rainyday's Remember When AKC CD ASCA CDX RA OA OAJ RS-O GS-O JS-O STDs HSAs NAC TG-N) earned two legs on his RE title with a second place win.

December 9-10

We went up to Amarillo where we had a great time. On Saturday, Mimi (ASCA CH Rainyday's Time After Time) finished her CH! On Sunday Deborah Hendrickson's Spark daughter Lace (Pacific's Chantilly Lace) was RWB.

Mimi is the fifth new Rainyday AKC CH this yr. We finished three, all from BBX, but... all three had their first pts from puppy classes and therefore won't be invited for BBX at the Classic... sigh.

We had a great note from Debbie Hanson:

Hi All --

We attended a huge 4-day agility trial -- Hounds for the Holidays -- in Milwaukee this past weekend. Three soccer rings, great turf, 990 runs per day! And I have a few LITTLE brags, summarized below :-)

Remy -- she can't brag on her handler until today. We had a GREAT run in Excellent JWW for MXJ leg #7. Finally, a Q! And she had a nice time, too -- 11 MACh points from a JWW run is great for us. Then in Excellent Standard, we had a great run but she put her nose down before the jump after the table (think I'll blame that one on her). Otherwise, she did the hard parts just great and very fast!

Marley -- I started her over in Novice Preferred at our last AKC trial. Here is her weekend list:

Thursday -- dropped a bar in JWW Novice Preferred, NQ
Thursday -- Novice Pref Standard, Q, clean run, 1st place, NAP title!
Friday -- Nov Pref JWW, Q, clean run, 1st, NJP title!
Friday -- Open Pref Standard, Q, clean run, 2nd place, first leg
Saturday -- Open Pref JWW, Q, clean run, 1st place, first leg
Saturday -- Open Pref Standard, Q, clean run, 2nd place, 2nd leg
Sunday -- Open Pref JWW, Q, clean run, 1st place, 2nd leg
Sunday -- Open Pref Standard, Q, clean run, 1st place, OAP title!!

Marley ROCKS!!! Seven Qs in eight runs! Three titles in four days! She says she doesn't want to retire yet! Guess we'll play
for a while longer.

As usual, Flicka spent the weekend being cute, practicing getting measured (17.75 inches from a rep who is notorious for
measuring "big"), and getting used to the huge trial scene.

We had a holiday portrait photo taken today, so I hope to post it soon. (SEE BELOW).

Hope everybody else had as great a weekend as we did! Back to reality tomorrow -----

We also had great news from CA from Linda Grant and Alsi (Rainyday's Al'C About That):

Well, Alsi and I went to our first AKC agility trial.  You have to understand that Alsi has only taken one agility class, which Cherie (Burns' owner) and I were the instructors, and Bruce handled her --  and then, has only been to one fun match.  So basically she has been "home-schooled".

We have never done a full jumpers course at home, only worked on contacts and some "entrances".  At the fun match she had no idea what to do about pin wheels, back or front crosses.. Oh my what was I in for? .. (for those that do agility you know what I'm talking about!)

I had already entered her in three days of AKC agility at Rancho Murieta, which is a big equestrian complex just south of Sacramento, CA.  Thank goodness it was in a large covered arena, because we had wind and rain all three days.

Alsi had a great time, and ended up with a 1st and 2nd in Jumpers with Weaves and today she got a 1st in Standard.  She had never really been on any other equipment except class last summer, and then the fun match (which was a few weeks ago), where I had to "babysit" her across the dog walk, and over the A-Frame.  The first 2 days of Standard, she was a little apprehensive about the new-to-her equipment, but never jumped off anything, or refused any of the equipment, and she did her 6 weaves poles just fine all except once where I had to pull her back for a "re-do" (you can do that in Novice).  Her non-qualifying was "handler-error", so I have to work on that. :)

Although we didn't get a title this weekend, I am so very pleased with Alsi.  I think I'm going to have a ton of fun with her in 2007!!!

Gosh! I finally have a small brag :)

December 2-3

What news! I am very excited to report that Cheryl Shutt and her wonderful Casey earned their MACH today! Cheryl wrote:

It is a wonderful feeling to have this title and to be the first Rainyday dog to have this title. Thank you Kate and Linda so much for this opportunity for this wonderful pet that I wanted 6 years ago.  I say this with tears and love in my eyes. Again, thank you.

Just heard from Linda Buell that her Perro son (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's Perro Rojo) finished his ASCA championship today. Stitch (ASCA CH Woodstock's Forever in Blue Jeans) is out of Woodstock's Made By Makita Inc CGC STDs HTD-1 RS-E JS-E GS-N OA OAJ EAC EJC NGC and was bred/is owned by Linda Buell of Woodstock Australian Shepherds in CA. Stitch was a yr old in June and is also ptd in AKC.

November 25-26

We went up to OKC for the ASCA show and had a wonderful time. Parker showed his special girl Victoria (AKC/ASCA CH Pacific's Sweet Victorie NA NAJ RS-N JS-N) in pre-novice juniors. They are such a great team! Our Mimi (ASCA CH Rainyday's Time After Time)  had her specials debut and was BOB at 2/3 shows. This was Eleanor's (Rainyday's Eleanor Rigby) first ASCA show and she earned a 5 pt major!

Danielle Pugh was in OKC with us and she writes:

Hey everyone,

We also went to the ASCA conformation/obedience show in Oklahoma City.

Victoria (AKC/ASCA CH Pacific's Sweet Victorie NA NAJ RS-N JS-N) had her Novice obedience debut this weekend.  She qualified in both of her runs on Saturday, one with a second place earned with her winning a run-off.  On Sunday, she really shined, getting a 193.5 under a VERY tough judge, earning herself 1st place and High In Trial Aussie out of a pretty big entry to finish her ASCA CD.

Toby Keith went altered BOS Saturday morning and Sunday, and Tucker was altered Winners Dog on Saturday afternoon for two more points.

Jackson and I were entered in obedience all weekend to work on some things and to try and improve our scores.  Saturday morning we had a little trouble (he ticked the broad jump among a few other things) but Saturday afternoon he came around, earning a 195 and High In Trial and High in Trial Aussie.  On Sunday, in the conformation ring, he went BOS to Mimi.

We also had a nice note from Cherie in CA about her new boy Burns:

Burns (Merlin x Rose) competed in his first CPE Agility Trial on Friday.  He had such a great time.  I'm still working on our teamwork, so entered him in Level 2.  Well, he was 5 Q's for 5 runs.  He was even 1st in a very difficult Snookers run, there was a large entry in it also, so it wasn't one of those 1sts because he was the only dog in the class.  It was even more difficult than my Mori's (Tri-Ivory Black Morel) Level 5 Snookers run.  All the competitors that knew me kept coming up and asking who he was, where I had gotten such a lovely, trained, adult dog.  Everyone was so impressed.  I was so proud.  Thanks Linda and Kate for such a lovely dog.  And Kari for all of his training.  I've started training Burns for Advanced and Excellent Rally, so late winter, Rally watch out, here comes Burns. I am so impressed with his temperament.  Nothing fazes him.  In the middle of chaos, he remains calm.  I finally heard him bark for the first time today.  I had begun to wonder if he could bark.  He had been making lots of little sounds, whines, moans, chirps, groans, but no barks.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and time off.
Cherie and Burns

November 18-19

More news on Casey's MACH quest:

Casey had a great weekend. We got double Q number 19 on Sat. and 19 1/2 on Sunday in jumpers, but he was having a bit of a phlegm problem today and stopped in the middle of his standard run to hack up a lougie (?)

The double on Sat. was the important one since it was the 6th double Q he needed to qualify for the AKC nationals this March. We have a trial in 2 weeks so everyone can send good vibes our way.

We also had a wonderful note from Holly about her young boy Maverick (Rainyday's Need for Speed):

I wanted to report on Maverick's first trial. I entered him into a Rally trial over the weekend. I have been working
obedience, but he isn't ready yet. However, we have also been doing some rally. I wanted to see how we would work as a team in a trial setting. I am happy to report that little Mav is now an RN!

The first day, he was unsure of what was going on until we got half way through the course. Then it was like a light bulb went on. He finished with an admirable 91 pts on Friday because it was a tough novice course in my opinion. And he finished in Fourth Place. On Saturday he did better and the judge set a course with many changes of direction in a short amount of space. He heeled with me perfectly through those. We did bump a few times, so we finished with a 97 and a third place. On Sunday, he did great although being scared by someone pulling a squeaky wheeled dolly out from under a nearby table. But, we got it together and finished in First place with a 99. We lost one point for a tight lead because he briefly got distracted because he saw one of his playmates outside the ring.

AND I have to brag on my 8 yr old Aussie, Tango, who did well too and finished his Advanced title this weekend taking firsts all three days.

I was so proud of Maverick for doing so well for his first ever show, especially since he still gets a bit nervous over noises and flappy award table tablecloths. When they announced he took first on Sunday, I said good boy and he jump straight up in the air to try and grab the ribbon. He also liked the fact they let him pick a toy out of a big basket. Actually, he wanted about two or three.

I am so looking forward to more events with this boy!!

Holly

November 11-12

Danielle and Dorinda Pugh attended an ASCA agility trial this weekend. On Saturday, Jackson (ASCA CH Rainyday's Remember When AKC/ASCA CD RA OA OAJ RS-N GS-N NAC HSAs STDs) qualified in Open Gamblers with a 2nd place to finish his GS-O.  Toby Keith (ASCA A-CH Rainyday's How Do You Like Me Now? NA OAJ RS-N JS-N) qualified in Novice gamblers with a 3rd place to finish his GS-N. On Sunday Jackson qualified in open gamblers with a second place and then qualified in open standard with a first place to earn his RS-O. Toby Keith also qualified in novice gamblers with a third place for an extra q.

Kari Brown and her boy Pete (ASCA/UKC CH Rainyday's Hard Habit to Break ASCA CD RA OA OAJ RS-O JS-O GS-O NAC STDs)  qualified in elite standard on Saturday. On Sunday Indi earned another elite jumpers leg and qualified in elite gamblers to finish his GS-E title!

And there was this brief, albeit exciting, note from Cheryl Shutt:

Kate and Linda and everyone else,

We had a nice weekend in Odessa at the AKC agility trial.  Casey got double Q #18.

November 4-5

We had a wonderful note from Danielle and Dorinda about their weekend:

Hey Everyone,

We just got back from 2.5 days of trialing.  We did an ASCA agility trial on Friday night (started at 5, ended at 11, not too bad for 300 runs!!) and a NADAC trial Saturday and Sunday.

As many of you have heard me complain, Jackson has been having a little knocked bar problem which has been haunting us for a few months now.  This is what I have been affectionately been calling the jumpers curse, the one that won't let the dog with two AXJ legs qualify in Novice jumpers in ASCA or NADAC!!!  The last few weeks we have been trying some new stuff in practice, and let me tell you, we finally broke the curse!!!

Jackson (Violet x Merlin) started the weekend off on Friday going 3 for 3, getting 1st place in Open Regular for his 2.5 Q, 1st in Novice Jumpers for HIS FIRST Q!!  and getting 2nd in Open Gamblers for his first Q.  On Saturday (NADAC), he qualified in novice chances for his second leg (they don't place this class), qualified in novice jumpers with a 2nd for his first leg, got a half leg in each of his Open regular runs with a 1st and a 2nd place, and qualified in novice Touch and Go with a 1st place for his TG-N title!!  On Sunday, Jackson qualified in novice jumpers with a 3rd place, got a full leg in his first open regular run and a 1st place, and got a half Q and a 2nd place on his second open regular run.  All in all, I was VERY proud of my man.
Victoria (Spark daughter, belongs to Kate and Linda) was entered on Friday only and qualified in both novice jumpers and novice standard (2nd place) to finish her JS-N and her RS-N.
Tucker (Lark x Perro) was Tucker and had a good time as he always manages to do, despite what he makes of the course, lol!!  No Q's on Friday night, but had the most beautiful open jumpers run (I made him drop one bar) and was running like the wind at over 5 yps which is pretty darn fast for a 22.5" and 60lb puppy!!  On Saturday he got 1.5 legs on his Novice Regulars title with a 2nd and a 3rd place.  On Sunday, my mom let me run him in Tunnelers.  This was my and his first time in tunnelers...that is some running!!!  He got a leg and a first place!!  He made it look easy, Jackson on the other hand took the first wrong tunnel he could get to and never looked back.  He did the wrong course fast at least, lol.
Toby (Rose x Merlin) also finished a couple titles this weekend.  On Friday night, Toby and my Mom had their first run in Open regular and qualified with a 1st place for his first leg.  On Saturday, Toby qualified in Novice chances for his NCC title, qualified in Novice jumpers with a 3rd place for their NJC, and got their first novice Touch and Go leg with another 3rd place win.
Sorry for the novel, just wanted to brag on how well all the doggies did.  Hope everyone had a great weekend and hope to hear lots of good stuff from the weekend.  Congrats to Cherie and Burns and Mary and Ziggy on your first trials together.

-Danielle (and Dorinda (who makes me brag for her, lol))

We also heard from Kari Brown:

Happy Monday!!

I took Pete and Indi  to the NADAC agility trial on Saturday and Sunday.  Pete was in 20+ skilled and Indi was in 20 proficient.  Saturday, Indi took 1st place in Novice Touch N-Go!!  Pete qualified in Open Chances then took 1st place in Jumpers, 1st place in Open Standard round 2.  In round one I released him from his dog walk contact a fraction of a second early so he missed his contact (MY FAULT!!) Then he took another 1st place in Novice Touch N-go!!!  Sunday, Indi took 1st place in Novice Tunnelers to finely complete all his Novice Tunnelers TITLE :O) For some reason NADAC did not log one of his novice tunnelers runs so he was missing this one leg :O)  He does have his Open and Elite titles!  Pete Qualified again in Open Chances for his OGC TITLE!  Then took 1st place in Open Jumpers for his OJC TITLE and completed the day by taking 1st place in Novice Tunnelers for his TN-N TITLE!!!  Pete has two beautiful Open Standard runs but one of his runs AGAIN I released him to soon from his contact MY FAULT AGAIN  and the last run was PERFECT but the judge decided he came off his teeter to soon and would not give me his Q.  I did talk to the judge as I don't think that was fair.  The teeter did hit the ground and everyone said he got his contact.  Oh well, I could NOT be happier with that run!!!  When I got home I received a call from Danielle who told me that Pete took HIGH IN TRIAL AUSSIE!!!  I had no idea he was in the running.

Kari Brown

October 28-29

We stayed home again this weekend. Kari Brown and Pete (ASCA/UKC CH Rainyday's Hard Habit to Break ASCA CD RA OA OAJ RS-O NAC JS-E NJC GS-E NCC WV-N) finished his AKC CD.

Cheryl Shutt wrote to tell us about her agility weekend:

Casey and I had a very good weekend considering some questionable obstacle positions in agility courses making it quite unsafe for the dogs.  Those that were not unsafe were unfair and I am not one to complain about the difficulty of courses.  We ended up with one Q in standard, but we got first place in 20" Ex B  earning 28 MACH points.

The other star for that course was Colleen from Lubbock who is a junior handler running Rainyday's Take it to the Limit OA OAJ. She also had a Q in ExA and the only one to qualify in her class earning a first place. This was her 1st or 2nd leg because she did not talk of a title. Too bad it wasn't in Ex B yet because she could have earned about 3 MACH points. Way to go Colleen and Henley.

Out in CA, Trisha Herring attended an ASCA show with Shooter (Spark X Brandy) and won BOSp.

Also in CA, Kerry Kirtley attended an ASCA show with Stoli (Baker X Payback) and won BOBp. This was Stoli's second time in the ring and his second BOBp win.

On the east coast, Joyce and Karina's boy Jerry Lee (Rainyday's Full Throttle) earned his third major and completed his AKC championship! Way to go guys.

Debbie Hanson wrote to tell us that the girls (Remy and Marley) had a great CPE trial:

Hi All --

Yes, it's me again with more weekend brags. We did CPE agility this weekend at a new place out on the prairie in Onarga, IL. Marley ended up with 9 Qs in 10 runs (a perfect 5-for-5 yesterday), and Remy had 7 Qs in 10 runs. Both girls are in level C where no faults are allowed. Saturday's runs were assisted (thwarted?) by 30 mph winds, but yesterday was BEAUTIFUL without a cloud in the sky!

Flicka's weekend accomplishment was jumping out of the 42" ex-pen, so it looks like I have another "excellent" jumper on my hands!!

More CPE this coming weekend in Spring Grove, IL. It will be FUN!!

Congrats to all of my fellow braggarts <g> on your great weekends!

Hope all of your pups make it through Halloween -- I will be taking half of tomorrow off to keep Marley from destroying the house. Halloween is one day that she could do without. I think Flicka has inherited Marley's "defender of the household" instinct. We shall see how her first Halloween goes........

October 21-22

We stayed home again this weekend, but it sounds like other people and their Rainyday dogs had a great time! Terri Boedeker DVM wrote that Colt (Rainyday's Colt 45 CD RN AX AXJ RS-N NAC JS-O OJC TN-N CGC) earned his RA this weekend.  Ronda Clark DVM and Gretchen (Rainyday's Here For the Party JS-N) earned their NA and NAJ this weekend. Gretchen had some great runs, including a first place with a perfect score of 100! Lizzie (Rainyday's Walk This Way CDX RA MX MXJ) picked up a third place in EX standard and added to her growing collection of MACH pts.

At the Decatur ASCA show... fun was had by all. Karen and Ron Bailey showed their boy Cody (Rainyday's In the Wild West) for his conformation debut. Cody is 12 months old and this was Karen, and Cody's, first foray into conformation. They came away with a RWD win to a four pt major on Sunday! Way to go guys!

Danielle and Dorinda were in Decatur with Jackson (ASCA CH Rainyday's Remember When AKC/ASCA CD RA OA OAJ RS-N GS-N NAC HSAs STDs), Toby Keith (ASCA A-CH Rainyday's How Do You Like Me Now? NA OAJ RS-N JS-N), and Tucker (Rainyday's You Just Watch Me JS-N). They sent a note with their show results:

 Hey Everyone,

Congrats to Kari and Sheila for the new herding titles, and congrats to Cheri for her new arrival!!

We just got back from a weekend in Decatur, Texas where Jackson was entered in obedience and conformation, Tucker was entered in altered conformation, and Toby was entered in obedience (Sunday only)and conformation.

On Saturday, Jackson got two legs on his CDX with two first place and HIT aussie wins.  Saturday morning, Tucker was altered reserve winners dog and Toby Keith was A-BOB.  Saturday night, Toby Keith was A-BOB and Jackson was intact BOB over 10 specials and 35+ class dogs!!  Needless to say, I was pretty excited.

This morning, Jackson was THE ONLY dog entered in Open obedience, and therefore had to do sits and downs all by himself.  Needless to say, on his first run, he lay down at about 2 minutes, being in that big ring all by himself was a little stressful.  On his second run, I had my mom stand ringside so he had something familiar to look at and he did great.  He ended up with a new ASCA CDX, HIT and HIT aussie.  My mom and Toby had their ASCA obedience debut and came out with 2 CD legs.

In conformation, not only did Tucker go Altered winners dog this morning, but went and beat his brother to go A-BOB over three specials for his first major.  The second show this afternoon, Toby Keith went A-BOB and Jackson made the cut in breed.

All in all, we couldn't be happier with our boys this weekend.  Hope everyone else had a great weekend.

-Danielle and Dorinda

We also heard from Debbie Hanson who wrote:

Hi All --

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to everybody who has written lately with breed wins and stories of great runs/legs/titles in
agility/herding/obedience, and to Cherie and her new boy! I really enjoy reading about all of your accomplishments across this whole country!

We went to an AKC agility trial this weekend in Belvidere, IL. The weather ended up being "good" compared to what was forecasted. Yesterday it did NOT rain all day as predicted and most of the day was fine for agility at 55-60 degrees. After all night rain, today's courses were mudpits in the morning and drying up during the afternoon. Today's adjective would be "brisk" with 40 degrees and a strong wind.

Remy had four very nice runs with my mental lapses causing our failures -- no Qs.

Marley had her first foray into the land of Novice Preferred this weekend. We had a blast on the Novice courses! All of her age and experience paid off well. She was perfect for the weekend, taking 2nd in JWW and 1st in Standard yesterday, then 1st in JWW and 2nd in Standard today. Not half bad for a 10.5 year old! She is one heavy-coated black dog that LOVED the weather!

Flicka spent the weekend being cute, continually enticing passersby over to the communal xpen to greet her. Then there was the time that she jumped against it so hard that she flipped the whole thing over and liberated all three of them.......three Aussies loose near the workers' lunch table is not a pretty thought.

A fun weekend! Back to reality tomorrow --

October 14-15

We headed over to the Los Lunas AKC show where we had a great time. Spark (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's I'm On Fire HT) was BOB both days. On Saturday our Mimi (ASCA CH Rainyday's Time After Time) was best bred by and went on to win Best In Show Bred By. Mimi needs two single pts to finish her AKC championship. On Sunday Spark's daughter Fame (ASCA CH Pacific's Miss Showbizz) was WB/BOW for her second major. Fame was bred and is owned by Deborah Hendrickson.

Kari Brown and Sheila Hall attended the ASCA herding trial where both Pete (ASCA/UKC CH Rainyday's Hard Habit to Break ASCA CD RA OA OAJ RS-O NAC JS-E NJC GS-E NCC WV-N) and Arthur (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's Copy Me at Peppertree PT CGC) earned their STDs titles! Pete even won the started sheep class on Saturday! Pete also had his first duck run and qualified there too. Way to go!

It sounds like the Enid, OK trial was full of Rainyday dogs. Danielle Pugh handled Victoria (AKC/ASCA CH Pacific's Sweet Victorie) and completed her NA and NAJ with a first place and 2 second place wins! This was debut time for Dorinda and Toby Keith (ASCA A-CH Rainyday's HowDoYouLikeMeNow? NA OAJ RS-N JS-N NAC) in obedience and rally. They qualified in every run with a second and a third in obedience and a first and a third in rally! Ronda Clark DVM and Lizzie (Rainyday's Walk this Way CDX RA MX MXJ) got their 5th double Q with a second and third place win. Lizzie also qualified in jumpers on Sunday with a second place. This was Gretchen's (Rainyday's Here for the Party JS-N) AKC agility debut and she qualifed in jumpers and won the class.

October 6-9

We went to the Alamogordo AKC show where we had a wonderful time. On Friday Jack Ryan (Rainyday's Clear and Present Danger) was WD and  Spark (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's I'm On Fire HT) was BOB. We showed Eleanor (Rainyday's Eleanor Rigby) in the match and she not only went BOB Aussie and Group One, but won Best in Match (in the pouring rain).

Danielle Pugh went to the AKC trial in McKinney and had a wonderful time. It was our girl Victoria's (AKC/ASCA CH Pacific's Sweet Victorie) AKC agility debut. She earned two NAJ legs and an NA leg with 3 third place wins!

Kari Brown took her boy Pete (ASCA/UKC CH Rainyday's Hard Habit to Break ASCA CD RA OA OAJ RS-O JS-O GS-O NAC)  to the AKC show where he went WD/BOS over specials for his second major on Saturday and was WD/BOW on Sunday. Pete only needs 4 singles to finish.

In CA, Kerry Kirtley showed her Baker (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's Desperado DNA-VP) X PB pups Stoli and GG at the ASCA show where they were awarded BOBp and BOSp.

September 28 - October 1

We had a great time at the Lubbock show. Rainyday's Clear and Present Danger was WD/BOW at the first three shows and RWD to Deb Hendrickson's Spark son Pacific's Pyromania on Sunday. Mimi (ASCA CH Rainyday's Time After Time) picked up her 12th pt and...

And... the monster baby (pictured above) attended her first show!

We showed 6 month and one week old Eleanor (Rainyday's Eleanor Rigby) on Saturday. First show. First ring. First time for anything. And... she was like showing a pogo stick! Our judge was Garry Newton and he started jumping up and down too. We entered her in the match that night to try to calm her down and she was BOBp and won the herding group! The practice paid off as Eleanor showed like a trooper on Sunday and was RWB (to 2 pts). I think she is going to be fun!

Danielle Pugh came to Lubbock for the weekend. She writes:

Hey Everyone,

I have several things to talk about!!

First of all, our Toby Keith (A-CH Rainyday's Howdoyoulikemenow? NA OAJ RS-N JS-N NAC) just returned to Texas from ASCA Nationals on Monday.  Our friends Rick and Melinda Gann (who show him from time to time for us when we can't make it to a show) took Toby to Nationals for us.  It was Toby's first time to go to an ASCA nationals, and we couldn't be happier with his showing.  He took 2 premier awards at the pre-shows (one day he was one of two dogs considered for breed), took a premier award at the nationals (there were 40 altered specials!!) and took 6th place at the Invitational (this is judged by three judges, with their placements averaged.  If one judge had placed him one placement higher, he would have been 2nd, darn!!).  Overall, not a bad job for a dog who has never been away from his mother for more than two days, LOL.

Second, we went to Lubbock this week for the 4-day conformation/obedience/rally show.  On Thursday, Jackson qualified in Open A with a 196 for his second CDX leg.  That night, Kate and I went to dinner and when we got back, Jackson had kennel cough.  Needless to say, I had him entered in conformation, obedience and rally Friday, Saturday and Sunday and was unable to show him.  Luckily he is finally starting to feel a little better.  Dogs have the worst timing!!  So far, all of my other guys have been ok and we kept him completely separated all weekend, so cross your fingers!

Lastly,  I want to say congratulations to Kari, Burns, Kate and Linda!!  Congratulations to Kari and Burns for qualifying in Started sheep to finish that HSAs!!!  And congratulations to Kate and Linda for completing all the requirements for USASA HOF!!!  This is so exciting!!!  I told the dogs, now they all have big heads, there will be no living with them now.

-Danielle

As Danielle mentioned... nothing can compare to the big news for the year. Burns (Rainyday's Catcher in the Rye AKC/ASCA CD RN NA NAJ RS-O JS-O NAC STDs) completed his HSAs this weekend! This is huge news because this HSAs was the final title we needed to earn the amazing honor of being named USASA HOF breeders! Thank you to Kari Brown for training/trialing Burns and congratulations to Cherie Gessford, Burns' new owner. Cherie has been waiting for Burns for several months and is excited that he will now be joining her in CA.

We also heard from Lynn and Charlie De La Torre in Florida. Their boy Bryce (ASCA CH Rainyday's Great Ambition) earned his second AKC major this weekend and finished his AKC CH!

We also heard from Mary Mynaugh who attended a flyball tournament with Ziggy (UKC CH Rainyday's Ziggy Stardust FDCH):

I have a weekend brag too!

Yesterday Ziggy earned his Flyball Champion Gold title (2500 pts).  FDCH-G   His other teammates consisted of an 8 year old Golden Retriever, a Swedish Valhund and an 11 year old Border Collie.  Needless to say we didn’t win many races and we mostly had 5 point runs.   Zig ran perfectly all weekend and I was very pleased with him.  He also met some new people.  They all walked away with Ziggy tongue prints all over their faces.

Today Ziggy earned the Yucky Award.   He earned this when he jumped out of the car at the show site and proceeded to roll in something yucky.  He thought he was MR. Studly and kept strutting around to all the girls thinking he was MR Cool.  Unfortunately the girl he really HAD to impress was me and I wasn’t!!!  Luckily one of the other clubs that attended the tournament had a small baby.  I was able to get a couple of baby wipes and Ziggy was soon his sweet smelling self.

September 23-24

We stayed home again this weekend.

Debbie Hanson and her girls went to an AKC agility trial. Debbie writes:

Hi All --

My brags for last weekend are late, but great! We were at a 3-day AKC agility trial in Crystal Lake, IL. Marley ended up one sniff
shy of three QQs!! On Friday, she qualified in ExcBJWW but then stopped on a dime while running well in ExcBStd to put her nose down before the triple for a refusal. Then she finished the course perfectly and fast (for her). On Saturday she had QQ #17 and on Sunday came QQ #18, and she earned 30 MACh points for the weekend.

This all happened after I sent off her entries for a mid-October trial for Novice Preferred.........although we can always go back to ExcB (and may do so when the venue is soccer turf, her fave!), it's time to let her have fun in the novice classes again.

What more can I ask of this 10+ year old?? And the other "old girl" in the subject line is me!

The latter point is emphasized by the fact that young Remy and I earned just one Q this last weekend for her 7th MX leg. We were close, so close, and I continue to learn of my limitations and how to handle them. She was PERFECT, doing only what I told her to do.

We have no trials planned until mid-October, so it's time to deal with the yard and home for a change -----

BORING!!!!

Debbie

September 16-17

We stayed home again this weekend, but it sounds like Kari Brown and Danielle Pugh had a great time at the Dallas AKC shows. On Sunday Jack Ryan was RWD, Mimi (ASCA CH Rainyday's Time After Time) was WB/BOW/BOS and Spark repeated his BOB and Group Two wins.

On Sunday Pete earned an Elite Standard leg with third place and also took a fourth place in Elite Jumpers for his first ATCH pts! Torch qualified in Elite Jumpers with a third place for his JS-E title and then won the Novice Standard class!

What an agility weekend!

August 26-27

We stayed home again this weekend but heard from Cheryl Shutt with this wonderful news:

Casey and I had a great weekend in Ft. Worth. We were four out of six runs with one more double Q and 46 more MACH points. We Q'ed all three standard runs and one jumpers with minor errors on the other two runs. On Friday Casey got 4th place in standard out of 51 dogs.

That puts us at 17 double Q's and 955 points. Three more to go.

Cheryl and Casey, aka, Rainyday's Fire in the Sky and all those other
letters that go here.

Karyn Jones wrote to let us know that  Robin (Rainyday's Rockin Robin AKC/ASCA CD RA GS-N NGC TN-O CGC TDi earned her PG1 at the USDAA trial this weekend.

and Debbie Hanson wrote with this news:

Hi --

So today was better -- Qs in 3 of 4 runs!  Both girls aced Standard, Marley for 10 MACh pts. and Remy for MX leg #6 and 18 pts.  Then Marley also qualified in JWW, just making time on a tight, loopy, demotivating course.  That was QQ #16.  I messed Remy up.......

And I won two baskets in the workers' raffle!!

I'll post the weekend brags on the website as soon as I get Flix pics scanned to post also.

I wish I had taken my camera with me today.  I made a trip to the bathroom, which was up some stairs and along a glass-walled corridor where I overlooked the girls in their x-pen.  All were snoozing.  Marley was plastered against the xpen walls on her back, feet in the air, her favorite snoozing position.  Flicka was taking a page from her big sister's book, asleep on her back in the middle of the pen, feet up.  All this was with a constant din of barking dogs in the cavernous arena.  I guess they all feel at home there.

When last I looked, Marley and Remy were hanging out on the deck and Flicka was doing laps around the yard, entertaining herself with a toy she took along for the ride.  Wish I had that much energy after this long weekend.......

Later,

Debbie

August 19-20

We've been enjoying our time off! Mary Mynaugh wrote to let us know that Ziggy (UKC CH Rainyday's Ziggy Stardust FDCH-S) was RWD twice this weekend at the AKC shows in MD.

August 12-13

We stayed home again this weekend but heard great news from agility trials across the country!

Danielle and Dorinda Pugh were at the NADAC trial withJackson (ASCA CH Rainyday's Remember When AKC/ASCA CD RA OA OAJ HSAs RS-N  STDs), Toby Keith (ASCA A-CH Rainyday's How Do You Like Me Now? Toby Keith earned Q's in Chances, Jumpers (4th place), and two Regular (5th and 2nd place) runs.  This was Tucker's first trial and he ran in Touch and Go where he qualified with a 4th place! We also heard from Donna Killam who writes:

Hi:

Dash went to a CPE trial this past weekend in Manchester, NH and got his CL3F title.  He got 2 first places in Jumpers and Jackpot.  When you need 90 Q's to finish a CPE Championship, it's a long road, but so far we have 28 Q's so far.  We are starting to make a better team and enjoying the ride.

Donna and Dash

We also heard from De Angelo in NY. De took his Spark (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's I'm On Fire HT) X Peek puppies to their first ASCA show where they had a great time. On Sunday Adore's Hot Shot was BOBP and Adore's Caught Ya Streakin was BOSP at both of the shows!

August 5-6

Mary Mynaugh and Ziggy (UKC CH Rainyday's Ziggy Stardust FDX) went to Nova Scotia for the weekend where Ziggy earned his FDCH and his FDCH-S!

Debbie Hanson wrote to say Remy earned MX legs 4 and 5 this weekend!

We had a nice note from Donna Killam about Dash:

Hi:

Dash and I went to the CPE trial last weekend in Skowhegan, Maine.

Out of 8 runs we qualified in 6 with two firsts, 2 seconds and a fourth.

He got his CL1R, CL2R, and CL1 titles.  Sometimes we have a good weekend and sometimes we don't.  We all know he can be VERY headstrong.

It was 100 degrees the whole time we were there and the electricity would only handle the fans in the trailer and not the AC so needless to say we were all sweltering. Who knows maybe the heat slows Dash down enough for him to listen.

Donna

Karyn and Richard Jones wrote about their little girl, Robin:

Hi guys,
Writing  to let you know that Robin earned her RA today in New Hampshire.  She had a great run with a score of 99!!  Needless to say she has been a busy girl.  Next weekend  we are off to a Nadac show to try to finish up some titles.  Will keep you posted.

July 22-23

We went down to Houston where we had a fine time. Spark (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's I'm On Fire HT) was BOS each day.

Danielle and Dorinda Pugh had a great time with their boys. On Friday Jackson (ASCA CH Rainyday's Remember When AKC/ASCA CD RN OA OAJ HSAs RS-N  STDs) earned a Q in Advanced Rally with 2nd place and also earned a Q in Excellent Standard with a 2nd place. On Sunday he earned a Q in Advanced Rally to complete his RA. Toby Keith (ASCA A-CH Rainyday's How Do You Like Me Now? Dream is just 6 months old and turning out to be lovely.

Shella Barclay's Sam (Rainyday's Samuel Adams RE AKC/ASCA CD AX AXJ RS-O OAC JS-O OJC GS-N NGC) picked up his first CDX leg with a 2nd place win.

Susan Pilney's boy Carson (Rainyday's Kit Carson NA) completed his NAJ in Houston!

Ronda Clark and her Lizzie (Rainyday's Walk This Way RA CDX AX AXJ)) had a great time in Houston too. Ronda writes:

Hi Gang, I had a good weekend in Houston also. Lizzie got her 8th MX leg one day, and another MXJ leg one day, finishing 9th in a class of 81!!! It took her a day to figure out how to handle the flooring, and dropped a bar in Standard and slid past the weave pole entrance in Jumpers on Friday, but all her other runs were very nice, just had an oops in each class she didn't pass.

Karyn and Richard Jones wrote about their little girl, Robin:

Hi Kate and Linda,
Just finished up an exhausting weekend with Robin but it was worth it.
Friday we went to NY to an ASCA show and showed in a tough Novice B obed. class and after waiting six hours and running at 9 pm we came home with a Q and 4th place. Got home at 11pm-turned around on Sat. and went back to NY for two ASCA obed. shows and Q'd both times(very long day).  Horrible weather conditions-pouring, lighting  and thunder(almost hurricane weather) and we were in a metal roof building so it made it impossible to hear the judge.  She was literally yelling commands.  Thankfully nothing phases Robin and we practice with lots of distractions.

Sunday we went to a CPE trial and we were 3 for 4 runs and finished her CL1-F title.  She was fast fast.   People said she was the 2nd fastest dog in the trial and the fastest aussie they have ever seen.

So she is now Rainyday's Rockin' Robin AKC/ASCA CD, RN,GS-N, NGC, TN-N, CL1-F, CGC, TDi

We went up to the Shawnee, OK AKC show where we had a great time (showing dogs was only slightly better than the hotel pool for Parker and the Primo's every night for dinner with friends). Spark (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's I'm On Fire HT)  picked up two big BOB wins and a Group Four. Mimi (Rainyday's Time After Time) was WB one day for a 3 pt major and RWB another day.

OK, Everyone's bragging on their weekend agility triumphs in Amarillo, so I'm chiming in! I had to work on Sat. and Monday, so just went up to run on Sunday. Lizzie finished her MXJ! She also has 3 2Qs and 190 MACH points to date. Not bad for a little dog who's only been trialing about 20 months, and shares her time doing obedience as well!!  Ronda Clark

We also heard from Cheryl Shutt who was in Amarillo with Casey (Rainyday's Fire in the Sky RA CD MX MXJ AAD RS-O OAC GS-N NGC). Cheryl writes:

The weekend was great in Amarillo.  We were 2 out of 6 runs but they happened on the same day. We were oh so close on so many runs. That puts us at 16 double Q's and 909 points. I don't have any trials planned until August due to the heat in Texas and the surfaces of the indoor trials.  Hopefully we can get our MACH this fall!

May 20-22

This was a LONG weekend.  Saturday morning I got up at 2:30 am to drive to College Station as there were no hotels under $200/night (graduation). Saturday started off with Pete in Elite Jumpers - beautiful/fast run but he dropped the last bar as I was really pushing him :O)  I was still Very Happy with his performance; he came in 4th place.  I started Pete out in the NACAC games this weekend and he took 1st place and Q'd in Novice Weavers and 4th place & Q'd in Novice Touch N' Go.  I made him hold all his
contacts :O).  Burns was shown only in Open Standard and took 2nd place & Q'd in round one and 1st place & Q'd in Round two for his RS-O TITLE!!!! THIS ALSO HOF'S THEIR DAM IN ASCA - AKC/ASCA CH. RAINYDAY'S ROSES ARE RED!!!!  Sunday Pete qualified in Elite Chances and took 1st place & Q'd again in Novice Weavers.  Burns took another 1st place & Q in Open Standard.  I also had the pleasure of showing Patsy King's Torch (a Spark son) on Sunday only.  In Novice Standard round one we took 1st place and Q'd  then turned around and repeated this win!  Novice Weavers we took 2nd place and Q and finished off the day with 1st place & Q'd in Open Jumpers.  I was told this now gives Torch his JS-O TITLE!!!

In other news... we also heard from Debbie Hanson in IL. Debbie writes:

Prepare for bragging.  I am on cloud nine today as we had a perfect day at the Lyons Township AKC trial in my home town of Villa Park.  Both girls double-Qed!!

Marley, 10th birthday yesterday, goes out and smokes the standard course, finishing 15+ seconds under course time.  Then she also smokes the JWW course (6+ seconds under) to earn 6 more MACh points in JWW!  Thus, she earned 21 MACh points today, and that is just less than 10% of all the points she has earned TO DATE.  I was stunned at how fast she was, especially in jumpers!  She maybe earns one point or two, sometimes none, in JWW.  To get 6 points is a shocker.

Then Remy and I managed to pull off her FIRST double Q!!  She finished 3rd in the huge 20" ExcB class in Standard and 4th in the equally huge 20" ExcB class in JWW.  She earned 35 MACh points today.  If we could work harder and finish 2nd instead of 3rd/4th, we could multiply those MACh points by 1.5, by 2.0 if we finish first (not bloody likely!)  Clearly we need to work harder.

Wow -- what exceptionally good girls I have!!  The crowd cheered!  Hoping for the same tomorrow :-)

Debbie

Hi --
Our AKC weekend was OK, definitely a JWW weekend.  Remy had two Qs in ExcB JWW for MXJ legs 2 and 3, and Marley had one Q in ExcBJWW!  I was stunned to learn that Remy actually placed on Saturday!  She finished 3rd in the tough, BC-laden, 20" class of 45 ExcB dogs.  Wow!  I thought that once she left the ExcA class I would never again collect any placement ribbon.  She was 6th today, 0.5 sec out of 4th.  Now that I know we can do it we have to work harder to make sure that it happens more often!!!  We CAN be a great team SOMEDAY!
Looking forward to our "spring break" starting next weekend at Purina Farms!!
Debbie

Debbie Hanson ran her girls at the huge Chicago show where Marley (U-ACH Rainyday's Life On Mars MX MXJ OAC-O OJC-O NGC-O OGC PI AD JV-O RV-O GV-N CL1 CL2 Cl3 C-ATCH CGC) had four clean runs in four tries!  But JWW was overtime by 1.45 sec on Friday.  So she earned QQ #11 and 23 MACH points in those two days -- not bad at all for a 10 yr old girl!!

February 18-19

We went down to Hutto for the TASA ASCA show where we had a great time. On Saturday morning, Spark's son Pyro (Pacific's Pyromania) had his TX debut and was RWD to the five pt major, Mimi (Rainyday's Time After Time) was WB for a five pt major and Spark (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's I'm On Fire HT) was BOB. In other areas, Courtney Bell and her boy Token (AKC CH Rainyday's Reason to Believe) picked up two more BOB wins and two Group Three wins. Token is currently ranked in the top 5 in AKC.

In other big news... we had the following note from Debbie Hanson:

Remy finished the C-ATCH championship at a CPE trial this weekend in Spring Grove, IL !!  We needed two clean legs in Level 5 Standard going into this weekend.  She earned one of them yesterday, and we pulled off the second one early this morning!  Remy is the 4th C-ATCH from Illinois (Marley was the 2nd).  I don't know where she will end up on the CPE list of C-ATCHs.  Their website lists 172 of them, with no new ones since Jan. 1 of this year.

Remy started CPE at Level 1 at an age of about 16 months in July 2003.  The C-ATCH title represents completion of all legs needed in Standard and six games through Level 5.  Remy's C-ATCH title totals 86 legs, and she earned it about 5 weeks shy of her 4th birthday.

She's such an exceptionally talented little agility girl!  She draws more and more attention with each trial we attend, and I need to be worthy of her.  Our latest goal is to qualify for AKC Nationals next year since it is relatively nearby in Columbus, Ohio.  We need 6 QQs and 300 points by sometime in October.  The challenge is a good one for us since we have no QQs (yet!), but we have a good start on those 300 points.  Maybe we will earn three QQs at USASA in April :-) !!  We're in, BTW!

And Marley -- the elder black tri 'sister' was 9-for-9 this weekend with clean runs all in Level C!  We are smoother than smooth as a team.  She ended up with Reserve High-in-Trial !!

So, we ended up 17-for-18 with a C-ATCH and a HIT -- not a bad weekend!

Back to reality tomorrow,

Debbie

We also heard that Spark's daughter Diva (UKC CH Outlaw's Simply Divine) earned a five pt major at the huge AKC shows in Denver this weekend!

February 10-12

We attended the ASCA show in College Station and had a wonderful time. On Friday night Kari Brown and Danielle Pugh had a great time. Danielle showed Toby Keith (ASCA A-CH Rainyday's How Do You Like Me Now? NA OAJ) and was A-BOB. Kari's Pete (UKC CH Rainday's Hard Habit to Break OA NAJ RS-N NAC JS-N GS-O) was WD for a five pt major and then went on to BOW/BOS over multiple specials. Pete only needed a pt to finish -- what a way to do it!

We joined in on Saturday. At the first show Toby Keith was A-BOB, Glory (Rainyday's Morning Glory NA NAJ) was RWB to the five pt major and Spark (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's I'm On Fire HT) was BOB over an entry of 65!  At the second show, Toby Keith was A-BOB, Mimi (Rainyday's Time After Time) was RWB to the five pt major and Spark was BOS. On Sunday Toby Keith was again A-BOB bringing his weekend total to 64 pts! Mimi was WB/BOW for a five pt major over an entry of 30+ bithces!

In addition, Kari earned a leg on Pete's CD and also a leg on Burns' CD (Rainyday's Catcher in the Rye NA NAJ JS-N).  Danielle showed Jackson (ASCA CH Rainyday's Remember When AKC/ASCA CD OA OAJ) in obedience for practice for nationals and won High in Trial Aussie!

February 4-5

We went to Hobbs, NM where we had a great time! On Saturday Baker (Rainyday's Desperado) was WD/BOW for a three pt major. Ronda Clark's Lizzie (Rainyday's Walk This Way CD RN AX AXJ) finished her CDX with a 197 and a first place win. Three shows and three legs!  Shella Barclay and Sam (Rainyday's Samuel Adams RA AX AXJ RS-O OAC JS-O OJC GS-O OGC) had their obedience debut and Sam qualified with a second place.   On Sunday Baker repeated his WD/BOW for another three pt major, Deb Hendrickson's Spark daughter Lace (Pacific's Chantilly Lace) was WB for her third major and Spark (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's I'm On Fire HT) was BOB. Ronda and Lizzie earned an extra CDX leg with a 197.5 and Shella and Sam earned their second CD leg and their second second place win.

In other areas, we hear that Spark's daughter Patsy (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's U Made Me Love U) attended her first International show and earned her INTL championship. Patsy is owned by Sheila Hall.

Up North, Debbie Hanson had a great time with her girls. She writes:

Hi Kate and Linda --

We broke our cabin fever by going to an AKC trial this weekend in Davenport, IA.  As always, we could have done better, but we ended up 4 for 8 in Excellent B classes for the weekend.

Yesterday, Marley had the only Q, in Exc. B JWW, for one whopping MACH point.  In Remy's two NQs we were close, very close.  Today was better as we ended up 3 for 4!!  Marley had her 10th QQ and a total of 15 points today, thus 16 for the weekend!  That's pretty good for us.  She had a very fast down (for her) on the table in standard and finished 12 sec under SCT and even finished 3 sec under SCT in JWW with a VERY smooth run -- as I said, pretty darn good for us.  Remy got her only Q of the weekend on the JWW course, finishing 12 plus seconds under SCT.  Her first MXJ leg!!  I checked and she was 0.74 sec out of 4th place.  Maybe if we get more efficient she can have hopes of placing again sometime, even in that 20B class.  I can dream, can't I??!!

I decided this weekend that our goal will be to qualify for AKC Nationals, to be held in January next year in Columbus, OH.  With it so nearby, I really must try to achieve this with Remy.  We have to achieve only 6 QQs and 300 MACh points by October -- simple, right??  Since Remy and I have zero QQs, this will be a worthy challenge for this season.  She already has more than 10% of those points . . . . . . . . !!!!

Next is CPE in Spring Grove, IL in a couple of weeks where we will be trying for the C-ATCH title for Remy (needs two standard legs in two attempts to pull that off), then the IKC trial at McCormick Place three weeks from now.

I have VERY NICE new photos of both girls over the double jump taken by Tien Tran, a famous agility photographer from CA who was at the trial this weekend.  She got one of Marley in October that I haven't sent you either.  I will try to scan them soon to send to you.

January 22-28

We went to the Abilene AKC show where we had a great time.  On Saturday Baker (Rainyday's Desperado) was WD/BOW for a three pt major. That night we showed Jack (Rainyday's Clear and Present Danger) and Ginny (Rainyday's Imagine) at the puppy match. It was Ginny's first time on lead and she went BOB and then on to a Group One. Best in Match was not until two hours later and by then Ginny (by far the youngest puppy there) was asleep :-)  On Sunday Baker was RWD and Spark (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's I'm On Fire HT) was BOS.

In South Carolina, Courtney Bell's Token (AKC CH Rainyday's Reason to Believe) was BOB both days and also picked up a Group Three in a tough group.

Susan Pilney's nineteen month old Carson (Rainyday's Kit Carson) earned his NA at the Houston agility trial!

Kari Brown attended an AKC agility trial on Saturday with her Pete (UKC CH Rainyday's Hard Habit to Break NA NAJ RS-N NAC GS-N) and our Burns (Rainyday's Catcher in the Rye NAJ JS-N). Pete earned his OA with a first place win and Burns earned his NA with a first place win! On Sunday Kari and Pete attended Pete's second weekend of ASCA agility where he was 6 for 6! First he took 1st place in Novice Jumpers for his JS-N TITLE!  Open Gamblers was next and he took 3rd place.  Pete then qualified in his first Open Standard run then turned around and took 2nd place in Open Standard again. He had a second Open Gamblers run and again took 3rd place for his GS-O TITLE!!!  Pete ended the day by taking 1st place again in Novice Jumpers. What a weekend!

January 21-22

Ronda Clark DVM and her girl Lizzie (Rainyday's Walk This Way RN CD AX AXJ) went down to El Paso for the Open Obedience debut. Lizzie earned two legs on her CDX with two first place wins!

January 14-15

We attended the HOTASC ASCA show in Decatur and had a great time. Dorinda and Danielle Pugh's boy Toby Keith (ASCA A-CH Rainyday's How Do You Like Me Now? NA OAJ) picked up three A-BOB wins. On Saturday morning our Spark (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's I'm On Fire HT) was BOS. On Saturday evening, Kari Brown's Pete (UKC CH Rainyday's Hard Habit to Break NA NAJ RS-N NAC GS-N) was WD/BOW for a 5 pt major and Spark was BOS. Pete only needs one pt to finish! On Sunday our boy Baker (Rainyday's Desperado) was WD for a five pt major and Pete was RWD. Baker now only needs 3 singles to finish. Deb Hendrickson's Spark daughter Fame (Pacific's Miss Showbiz) was RWB. Our Victoria (AKC/ASCA CH Pacific's Sweet Victorie) was BOB and her dad, Spark, was BOS. Not a bad weekend!

Meanwhile... Courtney Bell's boy Token (AKC CH Rainyday's Reason to Believe) picked up two breed wins, a Group 4 and a Group 1 on the very competitive Florida circuit.

Terri Boedeker DVM and her boy Colt (Rainyday's Colt-45 OA OAJ JS-N NJC) completed their CD and RN titles this weekend!

In other areas... Kym Base took her Spark pup Swayze to his first show where he was BOBp over an entry of 16 puppies!

January 7-8

Kari Brown took our boy Burns (Rainyday's Catcher in the Rye NAJ JS-N NJC) to his first rally obedience trial where he earned two legs on his RN title!
